My interpretation of Kyvern being seriously wounded/dying since for the longest time STJ had her slated to be sacrificed. Tried to get the dramatic effect off right. It's worth noting that although she's in a precarious situation she might be saved since Artheus can get her to a hospital quickly enough.....

Also worth saying is that she herself's a demon now instead of a mortal thus meaning this kind of blow would not harm her. And STJ decided the characters have 4 fingers like Dave's which'll be much easier for those pesky hands!
